To cater to those who decide to skip traditional college education for different reasons, universities around the world are offering many of their courses online totally free. These courses are collectively referred to as Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).
Over 800 universities have created more than 10,000 of these MOOCs in the last six years. 190 universities have announced 600 new free online courses.
